Leon County

There are two stories for how the name of this County came to be  History holds that the name was derived from the founder of Victoria, Texas: Martin de Leon; while local tradition states that it was named after a yellow wolf found in the region, affectionately called "Leon".  Either way, this county, located Northwest of College Station is home to the towns of Centerville, Jewett, and Buffalo and still holds true to the rural roots of its past.
